West Virginia Housing Development Fund Brand Redevelopment
WVHDF’s mission to bring affordable housing to all West Virginians required an equally inclusive identity. The existing visual approach, with a limited color palette and generic visuals, fell short of communicating that programs served diverse audiences. DR revamped the brand with an expanded palette, custom illustrations emphasizing representation and accessibility-first design.
The Goal
WVHDF’s brand needed to authentically reflect its inclusive mission by creating a modern, distinctive identity that visually communicates accessibility, representation and opportunity to all West Virginians seeking affordable homeownership.
The Strategy
Recognizing the need to represent the diverse customer base, custom illustrations were designed with flexibility for customized messaging. Typography hierarchy and brand attributes ensured visual consistency and coherent voice across all communications.
The Results
The revamped brand launched successfully, resulting in an immediate increase in social media engagement. The new cohesive brand experience ensures all West Virginians see themselves represented in WVHDF’s materials and understand homeownership is within reach.
