West Virginia Housing Development Fund Website
The West Virginia Housing Development Fund’s website was confusing and failed to communicate that programs were designed for diverse audiences. In 2026, DR rebuilt the site to prove accessibility and aesthetic excellence are complementary, creating an inclusive design that achieves WCAG 2.1 AA compliance while serving all users.
The Goal
The project aimed to rebuild WVHDF’s digital presence to communicate that programs serve all West Virginians. By proving that accessibility and aesthetic excellence are complementary, the redesign functioned to eliminate confusion and help diverse audiences understand program eligibility.
The Strategy
The redesign implemented audience segmentation within site architecture. A flexible Mega Block component provided visual consistency and scalability. Mobile-first optimization and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance were engineered into every design decision, proving accessibility animates superior design.
The Results
The site achieved validated accessibility across assistive technology configurations, demonstrating that inclusive design yields superior results for all users and establishing a model for government organizations serving diverse populations.
